Capital One Latest Victim in Cyber Attack

Capital One recently announced a large scale intrusion by an unauthorized user between March 2019 and July 2019. Capital One was made aware of their leaked data via an anonymous tip to their Responsible Disclosure Program on July 17, 2019. The company was able to identify and patch their network vulnerability but not before it affected over 100 million customers. 

Banking and Financial Institutions have been the victims of some of the biggest cyber attacks in recent history, most notably, the 2017 Equifax data breach which exposed the personal information of 147 million people. As these attacks continue to increase, Banking and Financial Institutions, need to employ multi-layered, unified threat management solutions to secure customer data.
